I am home! It was a long time away but an incredibly fruitful one. The response to Ring of Fire has been amazing and I'm really proud of the work. Amarillo audiences greeted the show with cheers, tears, and an instantaneous standing ovation at the show's end.
Here are some shots from the show taken by Phoenix's wonderful casting director Mark Minnick. I took them from his website www.thefollowspot.blogspot.com).
Besides seeing many of our cast, you'll get to see the terrific and flexible set of Walt Spangler, Mike Baldassari's stunning lighting, and Anne Kennedy's fun and sexy costumes. You will not get to hear Craig Cassidy's great sound design or the truly, truly, brilliant and thrilling new arrangements and orchestrations by the fantastic Steve Bishop. I was given a great deal of freedom in reimagining the show, and I added text from Cash's biography which Steve also underscored beautifully. He is amazing and I can't wait to work with him again. The show was also another chance to work with my great friend and collaborator Karma Camp who choreographed the show.
