Bernice Bobs Her Hair

Another fun, exciting, new, project: my dear friend Julia Jordan (I have directed her pieces, "Boy," "Sumer of the Swans," and "Sarah, Plain and Tall") has been wanting to write a musical of F. Scott Fitzgerald's story Bernice Bobs Her Hair. She has decided to write the book and the lyrics, and let me tell you, her lyrics are fantastic. The composer is is Adam Gwon (who first her of in connection with the musical Ethan Fromme) who is terrific too. We did a reading today at New Dramatists to hear the work they've done so far on the piece and it is already incredibly promising. It was also a blast to be in the same room as old friends Kate Weatherhead, Maria Thayer, Wayne Wilcox, Jill Abramovitz, Kenny Boys, Debra Wiseman and Charlie Brady. Can't wait to hear the rest of what they come up with!
